Employment: Disability Management Practices within the Workplace:
This workshop will focus on providing information, tools and resources on how to assess your level of disability competence within the workplace; how to build confidence within the workplace; how to develop and implement a disability management plan within the workplace; and will provide information on strategies which focus on injury/illness prevention and promotion.

 

 

Education: Diversity Initiative Project:
This workshop will feature the successful candidate school for the on-time grant promoting extra –curricular programming.

Employment: Fostering an Inclusive Workplace Culture:
Make your business more accessible to customers and employees with disabilities who are over 20 per cent of the Nova Scotia population, and join the growing list of “disability confident” organizations. C. Workshop Streams

 

Employment: Business Partnerships for Success:
Employers and Community Agencies explore how to build a plan for the right skills for business needs employing persons with disabilities.  Employers need the right skills for the right job and we are living in times of a labour shortage with an untapped labour force that is available in skilled and experienced persons with disabilities.

 

Education: Expansion of AXXESS Acadia Model:
This workshop will be a panel discussion on the success of AXXESS Acadia program and the possible expansion of the program to other universities & colleges across Nova Scotia. Alberta has a similar program and boasts an 80% rate of students finding employment.
